Not at fault accident

AI Highlights
  • - 3 days later, no correspondence; doubt Lexus nexus exists.
  • - $320 monthly premium due soon.
  • - Removing a not at fault accident could drop to $120.

3 days later, still unable to get any correspondence. In the meantime, my $320.00 monthly insurance due date gets closer.

If only I could contact LexisNexis and get this no-fault accident off my record, it would be $120.00 monthly. I am beginning to think that LexisNexis doesn't exist and it is what the insurance companies use to get out of lowering your monthly payment.

  • - Auto insurance was denied based on a LexisNexis report.

Updated by user Dec 16, 2025

Do not waste your time trying to get them to do what is required by law. I’ve been trying for months without any results. I’m now in the process of filing a legal case.

Original review Dec 01, 2025
I applied for auto insurance and was denied due to something in the Nexus Lexis report. I made contact with Lexis early in September and sent them all my identifying information.

Mid-September, they sent me a code to access the information online. The code did not work. I contacted them and was told they would send a hard copy within 7 to 10 days. On October 6th, I called them again because I had received the report.

They said it was sent on September 20th and 'you must have moved,' which is not true, and I also get information from the post office on everything that is coming to my mailbox the day before. They never sent it. On October 6th, they said that they would send it out again within 7 to 10 days.

It is now December 1, and I have still not seen the report. After reading all the other complaints, is anyone interested in a class action against Lexus Nexus?

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

Inaccurate reporting and faulse statements that they will correct info

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Credit cards were closed due to a bankruptcy from LexisNexis that was inaccurate.
  • - LexisNexis delays and unresolved checks affected loan processes.

In Dec 2024, I received a notice from one of my credit card companies that my account was being closed. I panicked and contacted the credit card company and was told I had a bankruptcy and that I had to contact LexisNexis to resolve it.

I contacted LexisNexis and was sucked into a rabbit hole with no end in sight. I was on the phone for hours attempting to clear the information up with them. I provided all the information they requested with hesitancy as I was not sure of this company and who I was providing this information to, based on the fact that their current information on me was inaccurate to begin with. I was told that they created a case number and that it would take 30 days to 4 months to resolve and to call back to verify.

I received letters from LexisNexis with codes to get my report but was never able to get the information they promised. In the meantime, I pleaded with my credit card company to review my payment history to reinstate my card; after their investigation, they reactivated my account. A few months later, my NFL card sent me a notice that my card was being closed due to bankruptcy. This process repeated itself all over again, with me being incensed with anger that LexisNexis had not corrected my information, and I tried to have the issue escalated and was told this would be resolved this time.

I again contacted my credit card company and pleaded with them to verify my information by checking my Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax reports that did not show me with a bankruptcy. After their investigation, my credit card was reinstated. All of this headache was due to my actions for this information being provided to these companies erroneously. This week, I applied for a mortgage loan for an investment property, and the company wanted to do a background check and used LexisNexis, and they stopped the process because they said they could not verify my identity.

I provided the loan company all my documents and was told to contact LexisNexis again. I contacted LexisNexis and fell back down the rabbit hole for the third time in a year. I would like this company to not share my information without my approval of the information that they are supplying to companies that are charging me more for insurance, declining credit, and ruining the lives of people who have done nothing wrong.

LexisNexis should stop doing business until they clean up all their files of mixed files. This company should be sued for their errors.

Cons:
  • This company is bad at information handling

Preferred solution: correct information and stop providing my information to companies without my consent

User's recommendation: Expect to go down a rabbit hole with this company with no true way to get your issue resolved.

A nightmare for any insurance policyholder

AI Highlights
  • - Collects and shares personal data without consent.
  • - C.L.U.E. reports contain false entries inflating premiums; corrections are difficult.

LexisNexis has been a nightmare for me as a consumer trying to get fair insurance. They are not a legitimate credit or consumer reporting agency in the traditional sense, yet they collect and distribute personal data without proper consentoften through vague third-party subscribers.

Because of them, getting car insurance has become a frustrating process, with inflated premiums driven by false and damaging information in their C.L.U.E. reports. They falsely listed a car towing in 2024 that never occurred and even reported a car accident in 2023 with no driver involved. When I tried to correct the record, they demanded I follow their flawed and questionable dispute process.

LexisNexis has no right to this data, and their actions feel more like unethical data brokering than anything resembling consumer protection. Their reports are unreliable, misleading, and harmful.

Loss:
$5200
Cons:
  • Defamation of my character as driver car towing never happened
  • Lexisnexis harassment is out of control
  • Lexisnexis stay away from my financial information

Preferred solution: I want to completely opt-out from their services. I am not following their ridiculous dispute process.

User's recommendation: Request a copy of your C.L.U.E report not a LexisNexis report. This company operates in the shadows. LexisNexis is not legit

Your comment along with your post shows an attempt to deflect. You allegedly have inaccurate information collected by LN.

You want to argue with them while the information still exists and needs corrected. Stop blaming LN and independently correct whatever is inaccurate.

Your response is a textbook example of deflection. You’re placing the burden on me, to chase down and fix false information that Lexis Nexis themselves created and is distributing without my consent.

The real issue isn’t just the inaccuracy of the data — it’s that they’ve built an opaque, self-serving system where consumers have no real option unless we jump through their hoops and validate their unethical process. LexisNexis isn’t a neutral third-party data collector: they profit from selling my personal information to insurers without meaningful oversight or consent using. I have no obligation to comply with their internal dispute policies, especially when their conduct has already caused me harm.

If anything, this defensive posture proves the exact problem I’m calling out: a system where accountability is always pushed back onto consumers that never purchased your service. LexisNexis operates in the shadows.

Guest

LN has every right to the data. They are only collecting information already in existence.

However they do owe you the source of any incorrect information so you can dispute it directly. You are not required to go through LN for dispute resolution.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2764425

Even if LexisNexis is collecting information that already exists, that doesn’t give them a free pass to profit off my personal data without my consent, especially when the information is inaccurate, misleading, or used to generate liability reports with no supporting evidence. That’s illegal, unethical, and unacceptable.

I’m tired of this ongoing hassle. I am not obligated to follow LexisNexis's imposed and authoritarian dispute process. I have no contractual obligation with them. LexisNexis Marketing practices lacks transparency and accountability.

Something is seriously off. Either their marketing team is creating legal content without any legal training, or their lawyers have no clue about marketing practices and data privacy. It’s hard to believe that actual attorneys would create liability reports without providing any evidence. That’s not just sloppy, it’s potentially defamatory.

This company needs to be held accountable for how it handles people’s private information. I wouldn’t trust them with anything involving data rights, consent, or legal accuracy.

Charge increase on auto insurance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Premium rose from $380.97 to $824.35 monthly.
  • - A son was added after a letter to an old address.
  • - 5-7 day wait clashes with the due date; plan to cancel.

I have car insurance and received an email notifying me of a charge increase. So I opened the email, and it tells me that my premium had an increase from $380.97 to $824.35 a month.

I moved in the mid/end of December, and called the auto insurance right away to change my address. In the beginning of January they had said that they sent a mailed letter to me, and due to me not responding to the letter, they took that as accurate information and automatically added my son to my auto account. When I asked what address was that sent to, I was told that it was sent to my old address (conveniently). I then asked why didn't my auto insurance double-check the information (no response).

So now I am having to jump through hoops to remove him from my account. They said that there is a 5-7 day wait for them to respond. And yet again conveniently this 5-7 day wait runs right into when my bill is due 02/20/2025. There should be a lawsuit.

If anyone knows of a lawsuit filed on this company, please let me know. I would like to add my name to that list.

It should be illegal for a third party company to just add other's to your policy. Better believe I will be cancelling Liberty Mutual.

So are you purchasing him his own policy? Because in Texas, and most states, he is required to have car insurance.

Your new rate minus your old rate is $440 for him being on the policy. That is probably way cheaper than purchasing him his own policy.

You are lucky they did not terminate your policy, the letter mailing issue aside. Listing him on your policy, or not and showing proof of his own policy, is something that needed done upon his licensure.

Agree. I used to get that form to respond to in December for about five years.

Then it stopped. Insurance companies are getting smarter.

They will give OP a refund and remove the son if she shows proof of his own policy. They put the onus on her.

Erroneous Report of Speeding Ticket Citation in LexisNexis DB360

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Lexis DB360 shows a speeding citation in Grand County Justice Court, Utah.
  • - Utah DLD records show no citations.
  • - Court checks show no speeding tickets.

In obtaining auto insurance quotes for a new vehicle, my insurance ran a DB360 through Lexis and it returned a Speeding Citation on 6/28/2023 in the Grand County Justice Court, State of Utah. I then pulled my Utah DLD Driver License Record and confirmed that I have no citations/arrests/department actions.

So i searched all Utah Court records for my name and date of birth, and the search found no speeding ticket citations in any Utah Court of any jurisdiction. I then did a search in Ground County Justice Court, State of Utah for the date of the citation and it returns a person with the same first and middle name as me, however, the last name is spelled differently by 1 letter and the date of birth is a different month, date and year by ten years. However, Lexis has associated in their database that the citation was issued to me and now they will take up to 30 days to correct their error!!! Unacceptable!

Their information is unreliable and inaccurate. I suggest insurance companies utilize Westlaw instead of Lexis Nexis as their information is erroneous, incorrect, unconfirmed and inaccurate.

Loss:
$534

Preferred solution: Correct their erroneous DB360 Report that I have any speeding tickets, they reimburse me for pulling Utah DLD Record, increased auto insurance premium and pay a day of pay for research and calls to address erroneous information in their report.

User's recommendation: Use Westlaw instead.

Therefore some of his accidents are on my driving report which causes my auto premium to be sky high.

For several years Im paying $2,400 more a year then I should.Approximately four years ago I sent you the required info you requested, which contained my mvr report over the last eight years which had no accidents or points, however you responded back to me that you didnt have enough information.
